Summer Employment Opportunity

Camp Blue Star  

The Hamilton Township Community Education Department’s summer day camp program for area children ages 5 to 12 will be housed in the Hess School.  The Camp will run for 8 weeks in the summer 0f 2008(June 23rd to August 15th).  Camp Hours would be 9am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.  (also before and after care program 7am-9am & 4pm-6pm)  

Camp Counselors:  35+ hours per week  Rate $12.00 Hr.

Need for camp counselors/group leaders to lead a group of 8-10 children each week. Each week will be a different group of children, utilizing same curriculum based on block schedule with activities ranging from arts/crafts, science, computers, language arts, math programs for kids. Person needs to be dynamic and like to have fun. Recreational activities will be led by counselors as well.

Requirements: Classroom experience &/or advanced degree preferred . Ability to spend extended periods of time in standing/walking/sitting positions in indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to actively participate with youth in recreational activities. 

Junior Counselors: 35+ hours per week $10.00/Hr.

Jr. Counselors will be responsible for assisting with activities, oversee groups of campers, help with lessons, supervise lunch times 

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalency required. Ability to spend extended periods of time in standing/walking/sitting positions in indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to actively participate with youth in recreational activities. Previous experience working with children a plus. 

Lifeguards: 6 to 8 hours per day,  rate  $10.00/hr.

Requirements:  16 years of age or older.  Valid and current certification for life guarding, first aid for the professional rescuer, and CPR.  Previous experience working with children a plus.
