Welcome to the 2011-2012 School year!

 

 

Overview of Curriculum

 The 8th grade Language Arts Literacy curriculum consists of novels, vocabulary, comprehension of literal, interpretive and critical thinking, literary elements and open - ended questions for narrative and persuasive text. The writing component of the class includes poetry, persuasive, and narrative writing.  In addition, completing various writing and oral projects will be required. 

 

WEEK OF May 21-25

 

 

 

All students will read their independent novel each day in class for 15-20 minutes.

 Students will work in cooperative groups



HW:
1.The final copy of the research paper is due Tuesday- late papers will result in a loss of 10 points per day

2.  The final copy of the book report is due Thursday-late reports will result in a loss of 10 points per day

Students will take the final SRI benchmark test
