Transportation

The transportation office is open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm each school day.   If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's transportation, please do not hesitate to contact us at 609-476-6319.  If you call our office with an emergency and it is before 7:00 am or after 5:00 pm and you cannot wait feel free to contact the bus contractor, First Student, directly at 609-965-1818 extension 203.

As a reminder to some and a refresher to others, following please find two important transportation policies that have been developed for the safety of all students in Hamilton Township.   Please take a moment to review these policies.

Transportation Policies

Board of Ed Policy #8601 - Transporting PreK, Kindergarten & Grade 1 students

Students in grades PreK, K & Grade 1 must be met by a parent or designed adult at the assigned bus stop.  If no parent is at the stop, and no one can be contacted, the child will be transported back to school and it will be the responsibility of the parent to pick the child up at the school.

Board of Ed Policy #8602 - Transportation Change Request

A request to change bus pick up or drop off location must be made in writing to the transportation office before any change can be made.  The change will be considered only if the arrangements are the same every day, Monday-Friday.  No sporadic schedules.  If the change is made, a three day waiting period is required before the change will begin.

A copy of the Certificate of Transportation change request is attached for your convenience.

         Reminders.......

·         The pickup time listed on your child's bus pass is approximate and may be adjusted as needed as students move in or out of the district.

·         Be sure your child is at their assigned bus stop at least 10 minutes early to avoid missing the bus.

·         When students are at the bus stop they should never run to or from the bus.

·         Children should always listen to the bus driver,

stay in their assigned seats, buckle their seat belts, keep the bus clean

·         Keep head, hands and feet inside the bus and

·         Always cooperate with the bus driver.

·         Students are not permitted to eat or drink on the bus.

School bus safety is a team effort.  If we work together, we can make this another safe transportation year for everyone.  Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
