Amy Hassa, President

Mrs. Amy Hassa

  • Amy Hassa has been a resident of the Hamilton Township community for 17 years with her Husband and  two children. Her children, ages 16 and 14, attended the Hamilton Township School District and are currently enrolled in magnet programs at Cedar Creek High School. Amy has her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University and has been an advocate and an educator in the areas of mental health and suicide prevention for 21 years. Amy is currently serving her second term on the Hamilton Township School Board.

Nanci Barr, Vice-President

  • Nanci is a lifelong resident of Mays Landing. Throughout her years as a student in Hamilton Township, she attended Shaner, Duberson, Hess and Davies schools. After graduating from Oakcrest High School, she went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University and her Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University.  She has taught Third Grade in a neighboring district for 19 years.  She currently lives in Mays Landing with her husband Paul and their two boys.  She is currently in her 5th year as a Board of Education member and currently serves on the Administration and Finance Committees.  She originally sought a position as a Board of Education member to be able to provide leadership through an educator's viewpoint and she continues to do that each and every day.


Eric Aiken

  • Eric is a lifelong resident of Mays Landing and attended Hamilton Township Public Schools (Shaner and Duberson).  He is a member of the Carpenters L.U. 255, has served on the Township of Hamilton Industrial Commission and has been a member of the Board of Education since 2009 and currently serves on the Instruction and Negotiation Committees.  Eric always wanted to give back to his community in some way and began attending Board of Education meetings and has been serving the children of our community ever since.

Shawn Ankrah

  • Shawn is delighted to serve her community as a member of the Hamilton Township Board of Education.  Education is her passion, as she has been a proud educator for the past 23 years.  She currently serves on the Instruction Committee and as a member of the Hamilton Township Board of Education she hopes to continue to ensure that our students have access to a world class education, and that all of their needs are met, both academically and emotionally.

Margaret Erickson

  • Margaret is a lifelong resident of the community.  Margaret's education from early childhood through college was completed locally.  Margaret began attending Board Meetings while in Middle School and continued attending through high school.  It was during those years that they thought a student voice was needed to focus on individual education needs, special education, advanced education and twice gifted.  Margaret continued attending board meetings and staying involved throughout high School and then stayed locally for college so they could run for the Board when they turned 18. Margaret has been a Board Member for over 5 years and currently serves on the Operation and Finance Committees.  Margaret  is very proud of the accomplished during their time on the Board of Education.  Margaret's hope is that more youth pay attention to what’s happening in their school system.

Jennifer Lihach

  • Jennifer attended Hamilton Township Public Schools K-8th grade and graduated from Oakcrest High School in 2002. She earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Rutgers and currently works as a hospital pharmacist. She is married with three children. She currently serves on the Operations Committee.  Jennifer is honored and enthusiastic to volunteer and give back to Hamilton Township School District's staff, students and community.

Christine Miller

  • Christine, her husband and two children have been residents of Hamilton Township since 2014.  She loves her community and the school system that has helped both of her children flourish.  Christine graduated from Stockton University with her Bachelors in Social Work and later received her MSW in International and Community Development from Monmouth University.   Professionally, with over two decades working with individuals, communities and systems, she has expertise in mental health, non-profit management, emergency preparedness, development, training and small business. She currently serves on the Instruction and Negotiation Committees.  When Christine is not working, she loves to spend quality time with her family at home.  Christine is a true believer that the simple things in life are priceless, every human we come in contact with has a lesson for us.....and empathy is one of our most important attributes.

  • Maria is a proud Grandmother, Mom and Auntie with only one child in a district who will be graduating this year from Oakcrest Highschool.  Maria is a local Realtor and Notary Public.  Her desire to become a member of the Board of Education was due to the current racial inequities and diversity problems in the community.  With her diverse background, she felt it would give her a different insight into people and the community.  She currently serves on the Operation and Finance Committees.
