Attendance
The Board of Education has adopted a policy with regard to pupil attendance and
promotion. Regular student attendance is extremely important to every school
family. Please refer to the attached Attendance Policy for district
requirements regarding absences and lateness/ early dismissal.
Weapons
The Board of
Education prohibits the possession, use, or exchange of any weapon in any school
building, on school grounds, at any school-sponsored event, and on
school-sanctioned transportation. A weapon is defined as anything readily
capable of lethal use or of inflicting serious bodily injury.
A
Weapon includes but is not limited to all fire-arms, dangerous knives, metal
knuckles, instruments intended to inflict harm, devices capable of releasing
harmful gases, components that can be readily assembled into a weapon, and
explosive devices. Any student who possesses, uses, or exchanges a weapon shall
be subject to stringent discipline which may include expulsion. Any person who
possesses a weapon shall be reported to the appropriate law
Substance Abuse
Substance abuse
guidelines, according to the Hamilton Township School District, state clearly:
1. The unlawful
possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students
on school premises, or as part of any of its activities, are prohibited.
2. Disciplinary sanctions
(consistent with local, state and federal law), up to and including expulsion
and referral for prosecution, will be imposed on students who violate the
law regarding drugs and alcohol.
